SOLUTION

I have chosen Marshall Plan, The Berlin Lift, and Vietnam War as the American Foreign Policies for this discussion.

Marshall Plan was initiated by President Truman and George C. Marshall, and was named after Marshall since he presented it to the Congress. The Marshall Plan was deemed to not only serve political, but also economic and philanthropic interests (Corbett, 2016). The plan would offer financial aid, which was around 13 billion US dollars, to help Europe recover from the devastating situation caused by World War II, and be in a position to resist communism. This is owed to the fact that at the time, communists were already spreading through France and Italy, and hence, there was need to undercut the growing popularity.  The countries were required to collaborate with each other so as to receive the financial aid. The plan lasted from 1948 to 1951, when it was eventually terminated. Nevertheless, it was an effective way of thwarting communism, as countries had to unite and reject communism so as to benefit from the financial aid.
