SOLUTION

Bureaucracy is a government system involving state officials being the central decision-makers concerning important issues affecting the entire society (Hill, 2020). The elected representatives have limited influence concerning the entire process of creating policies or laws concerning ordinary citizens. In so doing, the citizens’ interests or needs are not well represented in this system. Therefore, bureaucracy hinders the smooth practice of freedom in society. The right or power to think, speak or act of society is controlled by state officials hence making other individuals lack the freedom of choice (Greenberg & Page, 2018). The failure to incorporate the elected representatives in addressing the issues affecting the ordinary citizens worsens the situation hence making the system to be viewed as rigid influencing its inability to change to suit the needs and interests of the modern population characterized by higher levels of freedom and democracy.
