  • In what ways are you and your peers using these standards in your areas of nursing practice?
  • Discuss one nursing action you might incorporate to improve cultural competence in your organization.

SOLUTION

The National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services Standards (CLAS) mainly advocates for equality and quality delivery of healthcare services (HHS, n.d.). My peers and I always utilize these standards in the nursing practice by demonstrating a higher level of respect to all individuals without any aspect of alienation or discrimination based on their observable features or characteristics, for instance, color or race. Respect enhances the provision of equitable and quality healthcare services to the patients. Besides, the demonstration of respect aid in the understanding of the diverse cultures in the health care environment and treat them with a higher level of equality. Respecting the patients enables them to share their private information without fear, making it easier to design the appropriate medical treatment for their specific challenges (American Nursing Association, ANA, 2015).Please click the purchase button to access the entire copy at $5
