Initial Post Instructions

As Rice (2018) notes, “the boundaries that formerly separated not-for-profit and for-profit organizations have blurred, leading to a greater exchange of ideas between the sectors” (p. 14). Choose a not-for-profit organization that operates in your community or in your career field. Next, choose a for-profit business that provides a similar service. Compare and contrast the mission of both organizations. How does each organization use resources to achieve its goal? Do the organizations benefit from any exchange of ideas?

SOLUTION

I tend to feel that in the contemporary age, the line between for profit and not-for-profit organizations is very blurred. In my discussion, I opted for New Bridge Foundation as the case study for not-for-profit organization and Willing Way for the for-profit organization. Both are rehabilitation facilities that seek to assist individuals with drug and alcohol abuse. it is notable that their missions are almost identical, as they focus on  assisting individuals to overcome their addiction to drugs and alcohol. However, they differ in their treatment plans to include lengths, living situations, and care.

New Bridge Foundation is a not-for-profit organization. it is notable that they do not accept insurance, so funds basically come from individuals or families. Their website states all funds go back into the program. They also receive grants and funds from different organizations to keep them up and running.  Please click the purchase button to access the entire copy at $5
