      Discussion

Step 1: Read the following case study:

A nurse has an order to complete a procedure on a patient. After reading the procedure, the nurse notices that it is not best practice and it has not been updated for 6 years. The nurse takes this issue to the nurse leader (charge nurse) and the nurse manager (unit manager).

Step 2: Your first post is based on the first letter of your last name. For example, if your last name is Smith, you would answer the nurse manager question. Please review the differences in these roles before posting.

      SOLUTION

Hello. Quite an informative and interesting discussion. Decisions to do with hospital policies and procedures are not made by a single person. In fact, some facilities are considerably large that they have committees to review proposed changes and issue recommendations to the management (O’Donnell & Vogenberg, 2012). In this case, you state that you would collaborate with other parties such as the nurse supervisor, the board, and other administrators. What would be your short-term solution? The problem with coordinating with the other parties is that it may take a while to get the needed response. Please click the purchase button to purchase the entire copy at $5
