 SOLUTION

Nurses have a lot of responsibilities. They are tasked with supervising, developing, and directing the nursing staff; ensuring the quality of care; and monitoring the day-to-day patient care (Parand et al, 2014). This puts them in a unique position to mandate organizational climate, procedures, systems, and policies. Additionally, they have a moral and legal obligation to commit to care improvement and ensure high quality of care (Parand et al, 2014). In light of this, as a nurse manager, I would immediately offer feedback to the nurse who raised the issue. That is, I would express my gratitude. Secondly. I would coordinate with the relevant clinicians to push for changes in the procedure. Once approved by the P&T committee and management, I would lead my unit in implementing the change. To understand the importance of updated procedures and policies, it is essential to first comprehend what they are. Procedures act as roadmaps that guide clinicians on how to deliver and implement a service (O’Donnell & Vogenberg, 2012).   Please click the purchase button to purchase the entire copy at $5
